Do You Feel Safe?
WOMEN IN SOCIETY
“There is no area of a woman or girl's life where she is not exposed to the possibility of violence.” (wemove europe)
Isn’t it nice to be a girl/ woman?
All that flowers, someone holding the door open, dinners invitations, flattery, and co. Is that the Privilege of being a woman? Probably Not - as some women have to pay a price - higher than we can catch in numbers: safety!
The biggest and most important privilege we will ever have - is our Safety.
People will treat you like their holy pet. But what if the pet doesn’t wanna play? Sometimes Life feels like a big game - but the constructors of this theatre were only men - which turns this whole play into a drama for many women. It is more than time to ensure some rules in this game.
"We are calling on the EU to enhance and swiftly adopt the Directive on combating violence against women and domestic violence. The Directive should criminalise all forms of sexual exploitation of women, including sexual violence and abuse over women's sexuality, and all forms of online violence against women and girls. We also call to set high standards for specialised support mechanisms to protect survivors and ensure their access to justice and reparation."
While it feels as if everyone likes to talk about gender equality and the progress we have made - yes we love that! But let's face some facts where we are currently standing:
WOMEN IN SOCIETY
In the EU, 1 in 3 women have suffered physical and/or sexual violence and 1 in 2 women have experienced sexual harassment since the age of 15. Gender-based violence has increased for the first time in a decade and 2 women each day are killed in the EU at the hands of their partners or former partners. There is not a single country in Europe where women and girls are free from violence.

Flowing in a Generation that now seems to talk “all about healing” and victims being responsible for their recovery journey - nice talk but let's not forget to hold the cause accountable. How can women heal in a world that as data shows us, doesn’t seem to hold us save?
Sign the Petition for women in society to be safe. Let’s ensure we target the cause with voices, before we end up listening to another man on social media talking about feminine healing.
